The IVF Process at Genesis IVF Clinic
1. Initial Consultation and Fertility Assessment
Every IVF journey begins with a thorough evaluation of medical history, hormone levels, ovarian reserve, and sperm analysis. Our fertility specialists create a personalised treatment plan based on your unique needs.
2. Ovarian Stimulation
Hormonal medications are administered to stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple mature eggs. Regular monitoring via ultrasounds and blood tests ensures the optimal response to stimulation.
3. Egg Retrieval (Oocyte Aspiration)
Once the eggs reach maturity, a minor surgical procedure is performed under mild sedation to retrieve them from the ovaries using a fine needle guided by ultrasound.
4. Sperm Collection and Fertilisation
On the same day as egg retrieval, a sperm sample is collected and prepared for fertilisation. Fertilisation occurs either through conventional IVF or Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) if needed.
5. Embryo Culture and Development
The fertilised eggs (embryos) are cultured in a specialised incubator for 3-5 days. Our embryologists monitor their development to select the healthiest embryos for transfer.
6. Embryo Transfer
A selected embryo is gently transferred into the uterus using a thin catheter. This is a painless and quick procedure performed under ultrasound guidance.
7. Luteal Phase Support and Pregnancy Test
Following embryo transfer, hormonal medications support implantation. A pregnancy test is conducted 10-14 days later to determine the outcome.
